This Month on TopockAZ…
The Firemen's BBQ was a success, as always, more details under "social"
Hey kids! All you need to know about VBS this year on "Topock Kids" page. Look for the "social" menu.
It saddened us to hear about the passing of our dear neighbor Bill Strandberg. A few weeks before his passing he granted us with an interview which was published last month. Read more about Bill under "articles" then click on "Know our Neighbors."
Also, check new contents on Christian Space, Car Care, Veteran Stories, Fitness, Music, Who's in the Kitchen, and more…
Every month there will be news, opportunities, sales, etc., all under "announcements."
Welcome to Topock (also known as Golden Shores)!!!
Instead of writing about the history of Topock, this website will show some of what happens in the present of this town where many opted to live geographically between Lake Havasu, Needles, Oatman, Fort Mohave, Bullhead City, and Laughlin without the political drama and the unaffordable real estate as we know it elsewhere. If you look at the map of Topock you will see two squares of about a square mile each. The locals call them "the upper side" and "the lower side." There are other ways the residents refer to those two squares, for example "The Hills" or "The Mosquito Flats," or simply Golden Shores (for the upper square) and Topock (for the lower square). The famous route 66 cuts the two making a charming downtown look and feel like a movie set.
If you enjoy fishing, boating, water skiing, jet skiing, kayaking, swimming, paddle boarding or many other related water activities, the Colorado river is the place to be and right here in Topock the access to the water is very easy, maybe less than ten minutes depending where in town you are. If you prefer having fun in the sand, the desert that surrounds Topock offers a huge playground for off-roaders and sand in abundance almost anywhere you look.

Most of the residents belong to the group
of the "better age," and even though there are perhaps over one hundred kids living in Topock, the majority of the population
who settled in the "squares" are retired, but because they really know how to live life and enjoy themselves, there are many
spaces around the main streets where they can be found having a great time. For such a small town with less than just a few thousands
full-time residents, it does not lack restaurants, bars and clubs. With so many mature knowledgeable individuals several groups were
formed by the large number of adults with management and leadership skills. There are groups for all preferences.
In the next pages, we hope to discover together what Topock has to offer and what residents have to say about this intriguing town!
By the way, according to the Mohave language dictionary published by UCLA Linguistic Department, the word topock derives from "tuupak" which means "bridge." I hope to connect Topock AZ with the readers through this "bridge" called TOPOCK.
Enjoy!
